Questions and Answers

  • What is RIM?
  • RIM is an unprecedented inner technology for the twenty-first century. It is a gentle, yet profoundly effective process that reconstructs affirming images in cellular memory to create subconscious changes for accelerated emotional and physical wellbeing, and greater success. It releases your extraordinary hidden resources to lift your spirit, heal your mind and body, and inspire effortless action!
  • I want to have a RIM session. Where can I find a RIM Facilitator?
  • You can find a RIM Facilitator through the RIM Institute Facilitator Registry. Review the Facilitator profiles, interview the ones that resonate with you, choose the one that fits your needs and make an appointment.
  • How long is a session?
  • Sessions vary in length but typically last 1 ½ - 2 hours.
  • Does RIM only work on mental or physical issues?
  • RIM works on mental, emotional, physical and any other type of issue that inhibits you from living a healthy, happy and successful life. RIM is highly recommended for people who feel they are doing everything they can to fulfill their dreams of health, wealth and happiness, yet obstacles continue to show up to block their path.
  • How many sessions do I need?
  • Unlike many techniques, each RIM session accomplishes a complete piece of work; thus, some people get everything they want from one session. Other clients find it beneficial to experience 3-5 sessions so a new way of being is firmly and broadly established. When working on a physical illness, shorter more frequent, longer-term sessions can be more effective to reprogram the cells for healing and health.
  • What should I expect during a RIM session?
  • A formal RIM session is generally 1½ - 2 hours long, which includes time for you and your Facilitator to talk before and after the RIM process. You will sit or recline in a comfortable position. Once the RIM process begins, you will be very relaxed with your eyes closed, yet awake and consciously interacting with the Facilitator. There is no physical contact between you and the Facilitator. When RIM is used adjunctively within other types of practices, a RIM intervention frequently is 5-20 minutes long.
  • How do I prepare for a RIM session?
  • There really is no formal preparation required for a RIM session. However, it is helpful if you notice and share with your Facilitator any unusual thoughts, feelings, dreams or experiences that occur just prior to your appointment.
  • How will RIM benefit me?

  • Do you need to have a special background such as psychology to become a RIM Facilitator?
  • No, a special background in psychology is not required to become a RIM Facilitator. Since RIM is a transformative technique and not psychotherapy or coaching, students in the RIM Facilitator programs DO NOT learn how to conduct either psychotherapy or coaching sessions. These skills must be acquired elsewhere.

RIM is a transformational, body-centered technique built upon the belief that each individual is whole at their core. When we clear the emotional debris of human experience, we can access a very wise and enlightened resource within the self. The RIM process is client-generated – it creates the primary relationship between client and him/herself rather than with the Facilitator. Further, the RIM process operates on whole brain activity by tapping the left brain as the operating system to understand the insights and resources of the right intuitive brain. Because of these fundamental differences, the RIM Facilitator’s role is quite different from a coach or psychotherapist. On the other hand, RIM does require professionalism, integrity and a sincere willingness to continuously address one’s own issues so they do not get in the way.

  • How does the role of a RIM Facilitator differ from a traditional therapist or coach?
  • The RIM Facilitator is not the expert or leader in the process; rather the RIM Facilitator follows and then guides the client to access subconscious and hidden blocks, which are quickly dissolved via RIM skills. The RIM process does not include intellectual or analytic understanding of psychodynamics. Rather, clients are guided to actually re-generate new self-affirming visceral experiences that result in a different felt body experience. Clients walk out of a session not only feeling better, also feeling different! This difference shows up spontaneously in how they move, speak, make decisions, make requests, and feel. Clients frequently look younger and more vital with a sparkle returning to their eyes. Adolescent clients frequently look more mature and act in less rebellious ways. The RIM model promotes self-growth by spacing sessions out 2-3 weeks unless crisis conditions or physical symptoms require different timing.
  • When can RIM be used?
  • RIM can be a quick and immediate intervention whenever someone or a group has gone into a fear or panic response. RIM instantly snaps them out of circular negative thinking and brings them back into their bodies. Being present in their bodies, people are able to access internal resources and address the current situation. Similarly, RIM is able to dissolve past moments of terror stuck in memory, so one’s awareness is 100% available. Eventually, RIM becomes an inventive way of engaging life so that our internal resources remain constantly and intimately available to us.
  • How does this program differ from other healing or transformational programs?
  • RIM is grounded in the latest neuro-science research. These recent scientific findings substantiate how RIM effectively works to directly access and dissolve hidden blocks stored in emotional memory. Read more about these in Perspectives in Psychiatric Care, April, 2007 and Goodbye Hurt & Pain, 7 Simple Steps to Health, Love & Success.

Unlike methods based in intellectual understanding and analytical skill development, RIM allows the facilitator to guide the client around and under old defenses to permanently change. As hidden emotions and self-limiting beliefs gently come into awareness, the RIM process actively empowers the client to transform and create new self-affirming emotional memory. RIM allows the client to dissolve blocks specific to an identified problem or issue.

  • What will I be able to do professionally as a result of the training?
  • That all depends on your current level of expertise, your level of commitment, and a number of other variables. Some people add this tool to their professional tool box enhancing their existing practices while others create new RIM practices. Business managers use it to improve their communication skills with employees and other managers. Still others use RIM for their own personal growth or to improve the lives of those around them. The opportunities are unlimited with RIM in your resume!
